An army captain who was travelling from Chota Lahore area of Peshawar to Yar Hussain in his official pickup was pulled over by the Quick Response Force of KPK police who were manning a check post.
The captain was asked for his identity papers which enraged him and he along with his subordinates clashed with the QRF personnel. During the clash both sides sustained minor injuries.
Later, several army personnel reached Yar Hussain police station. Motive of their arrival was unclear as they did not register an FIR. Instead, DSP of Chota Lahore area Pashan Gul Khan managed to diffuse the situation and avert any further clash.
A JIT has been formed to look into the incident. It should be noted that no one should be above the law be it an army personnel or a civilian. With the threats we have and the tactics terrorists are known to use, such as dressing in police or army outfits, it should be unacceptable for someone to challenge police doing their job.
